We can also help you with hard drive repairs, memory upgrades, disc drive repairs and battery replacements.

Devastated to say that my relatively new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar has a cracked display/LCD at the bottom on the screen. I'm not particularly rough with my MacBook and presumably this occurred due to closing the screen with something between the keys and the screen.

I recall the moment the crack appeared, so this would have been a dust speck. Although I have AppleCare, the cost of repair is $680, since this is 'accidental damage' and 'out of warranty'The new machine seems much more fragile than my older MacBook Pro's which are still going strong 5 years in!Have others had problems with a fragile displays? I just stumbled onto this thread as I tried to explain the same strange phenomenon with my 13” 2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Just last week, I was cleaning the screen - gentle wipes with a soft cloth. There was no significant pressure applied. And suddenly the screen cracked in the same area.

I have since dispatched it Apple, with the expectation that it will be covered under my Apple Care plan. I have been a Mac user since 2003, and have owned Apple laptops since that time. This has never happened with any previous generation PowerBook or MacBook. This is a first.

The fragility surprised me, and troubles me since I travel overseas frequently. The above posts appear to show a crack beginning from the edge of the screen - my screen crack spontaneously appeared a little further up from the bottom after 20 days of use.I was using it all morning for work, I was working remotely so it did not leave my desk. When I returned back from lunch and woke the MacBook from sleep, the following crack was showing and I took a photo immediately. (btw I live alone)Apple said they have never seen this issue, that it was impossible for this kind of damage unless the screen had been hit or dropped and charged me almost £500 to repair it which I had no choice but to cough up.I presume acknowledging such a fault would open the flood gates to complaints and there is no good way to discern between genuine issues and accidental damage.Needless to say, I am not happy at all.

There are no visible marks anywhere else on the mac, no sign of impact.Once I picked the MacBook up from repair, the lid made a cracking noise when it opened and closed and a usb-c port loses connection if the cable is lifted gently. So angry at Apple!

This is my very first Apple Computer. I bought a new (at the time) Macbook Pro 15 inch, 16GB RAM, 1GB SSD, 4GB video memory and all the latest specs on my first laptop. I paid about $3500 for this laptop. I bought it in January of 2017, December 2017 (so, almost one year) I noticed a crack on the bottom right of my screen I have no idea where it came from but assumed it was my fault.Took it to MacMedics, which is an Apple authorized retailer that fixes Apple products. They said I MIGHT have to only pay a $99 deductible BUT it happened that I only had AppleCare (not AppleCarePlus). AppleCare+ was not available for any Apple products that was sold before June 2017.

So, I bought my computer 6 months too early and there was no way to get coverage under AppleCare+ so, I'd have to pay the full cost for a screen replacement. Instead of only $99 for the deductible, ugh!!!I paid nearly $680 to have the computer screen repair, now, 2 months after that repair; I noticed a small crack on the screen, again! So I paid $3500 for it new, paid $680 for the first repair, now, I’m trying to figure out, do I just list it on ebay as a crack screen or do I paid another $680 for the repair? If I do the second repair, I’d now have spent $4,860 BEFORE all the money I’ve spent on accessories.DO NOT BUY THIS NOTEBOOK IF YOU’RE A STUDENT.

I think I know exactly what caused it, I had a 2 pieces of paper closed inside the macbook pro and I think the staple did it when the screen was closed., I’ve done this with so many windows computers for years and never had an issue. Now, I bought this fragile piece of crap and this is what happens.

I take some blame but they should make a less fragile item, aside from thoughtless sticking the paper in there, I’ve taken great care of the computer.
